Book a StayLapland activity online: our booking window, step by step

We get the same few questions every week before people book with us: where do I pick a date, how do I tell you where to collect me, and what happens if the tour I want looks sold out? So here is our own walk-through of how to book a StayLapland activity online, written by the people who answer those emails.

Every activity on staylapland.com has its own page, and every page has the same booking window built in. We will use our Northern Lights Tour at the Campfire as the example throughout, but the steps are the same for husky, reindeer, snowmobile and sauna experiences in our activities in Rovaniemi.

The short answer: open the activity page, press Book now, choose your date and the number of people, tell us your pick-up address and pay. For example, the Northern Lights Tour at the Campfire is from 99 €, lasts 3 hours and can be booked online until 3 hours before it starts. Where the booking window lives

You do not need an account or a separate booking site. Each activity page on staylapland.com carries a Book now button near the top and a section further down called Check availability and make a reservation. Both open the same booking window on the page itself, so you never lose sight of the tour details while you book.

The easiest way in is our activities overview, where you can filter by category (Northern Lights, husky, reindeer, snowmobile, combos and more). Every card there shows the four things we think matter most before booking: the type of experience, the duration, the difficulty and the booking cut-off, plus the price it starts from.

Step 1: read the page before you press Book now

We know it is tempting to jump straight to the calendar, but two minutes on the product page will save you surprises. On every page, look for:

• What’s Included – for the campfire tour that is an English-speaking guide, winter clothing (overalls, boots, gloves, socks in adult and child sizes), a local snack and drinks by the campfire, information about the Northern Lights, photos on your own device, an air-conditioned car, and pick-ups and drop-offs within a 10 km radius of Rovaniemi city centre.
• Book in Advance – the online cut-off. For the campfire tour it is 3 hours before the start; for the Nulkki Husky Adventure it is 12 hours.
• Important – the rules that decide whether a tour runs, such as minimum group size and age notes.
• Accessibility and Cancellation policy – quoted word for word further down this article.

If something on the page does not fit your plans, ask us before booking rather than after. It is much easier to adjust a plan than a payment.

Step 2: choose the date and the number of people

Press Book now and the booking window opens with the departures we have available. Pick your date, then set the number of participants. A few rules from our product pages are worth knowing at this point:

• At least 2 people are required for the tour to take place on weekdays and Saturdays.
• At least 4 people are required on Sundays and public holidays.
• Children under 13 years old must be accompanied by adults paying the full price.
• On the Northern Lights campfire tour, infants must not sit on laps.

If the group size ends up smaller than required, the product may be cancelled or rescheduled. If you are unsure whether your date will run – for example a couple booking on a Sunday – just ask us before you book.

Step 3: tell us where to pick you up

Pick-ups within 10 km of Rovaniemi city centre are included in the price of our tours. The booking window lists the pick-up points we use most, and custom pick-up is possible on request. For the campfire tour the list includes Postmaster Hotel, Aurora Hill Resort, the bus station, Rovaniemi Airport, Santa Claus Holiday Village, several city hotels and the option “From your accommodation”.

If your address is not on the list, mention it while you complete the booking, or send it to booking@staylapland.com or WhatsApp +358 40 128 7846. On the day, please be ready and waiting in your hotel lobby 10 minutes before your pick-up time. The transfer itself is not counted in the activity duration, so we suggest keeping 15–30 minutes free before and after the tour.

Step 4: pay, and use a code if you have one

The last step in the booking window is payment. Our current site-wide offer is a 10% early-booking discount with the code EARLY27 for activities between 01.11.2026 and 31.03.2027; the offer excludes husky and reindeer tours, so the code will not apply to those.

After you have booked

A few things happen, or are worth doing, once your booking is made:

• Guide language. Tours are guided in English. Other languages (Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, German and Finnish) can be requested, with limited availability – send us an email or WhatsApp after booking and we will confirm.
• Clothing. Our winter clothing is included on the tours that list it, so you do not need to buy special gear for the evening.
• Cancellation. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the activity. If a booking is cancelled less than 24 hours before, we charge a cancellation fee of 100%.
• Weather. A product may be cancelled or rescheduled in extreme weather conditions. On the husky tours the temperature limit is −35 °C, and −25 °C for small children.

When the calendar says no

A departure that is closed online is not always closed for good. The online booking window stops at the cut-off time, and some dates simply fill up. As our product pages put it: if the departure is already closed or sold out, or if you are booking for a larger group, contact us via WhatsApp +358 40 128 7846 or email booking@staylapland.com and we will customise a departure for you.

We would rather hear from you than have you give up on a tour, so please do write – especially for groups, private events or anyone with a mobility question. Our tours listed as not wheelchair or stroller accessible are marked that way on the page, and we can talk through alternatives.

Combining a booking with your stay

If you are staying with us, booking is even simpler. The meeting point for most of our activities is Postikatu 1 – the address of our Postmaster Hotel in the centre of Rovaniemi – and both Postmaster Hotel and Aurora Hill Resort are on the standard pick-up lists. A natural pairing is an evening tour like the campfire Northern Lights tour and a daytime tour such as the Nulkki Husky Adventure (from 189 €, 4 hours, a 5 km self-driven husky sleigh ride) for another day. Book online if you know your dates, your group meets the minimum size and your pick-up is within 10 km of the centre. Contact us instead if you are a group, need a private departure, want a guide in another language or the calendar shows the date as closed.

Do I need to create an account to book a StayLapland activity?

No. The booking window opens directly on each activity page on staylapland.com when you press Book now.

How late can I book online?

Each activity shows its own cut-off under Book in Advance. For the Northern Lights Tour at the Campfire it is 3 hours before the start time; for the Nulkki Husky Adventure it is 12 hours.

Is pick-up included?

Yes, pick-ups within a 10 km radius of Rovaniemi city centre are included. Mention your address while booking, or send it to booking@staylapland.com or WhatsApp +358 40 128 7846.

What is the cancellation policy?
