That is why we created the Magical Private Santa Visit — a private meeting in a quiet place, with nobody else’s family waiting behind you.

What a private Santa visit means with us

“Private” is the whole point of this experience. Only your family is in the room with Santa. There is no shared group, no timed photo stop and no line of other visitors. The meeting itself lasts 30 minutes, which is long enough for children to warm up, ask their questions and actually talk with Santa rather than just stand next to him.

The setting is Santa’s Secret Hide-out, a cosy, festive place away from the busy spots. We keep its exact location to ourselves — part of the magic for children is that they are taken there by an Elf rather than following a signpost. Around the table you will be served warm berry juice and cookies while the conversation with Santa unfolds.

Step by step: from pick-up to drop-off

Here is how the 1.5 hours are arranged, based on how the experience is described on our product page:

1. Pick-up. Please be ready and waiting in your hotel lobby 10 minutes before your scheduled pick-up time. Pick-up and drop-off are included within 10 km of Rovaniemi city centre; our meeting point is Postikatu 1, 96100 Rovaniemi.
2. Your Santa’s Elf joins you. From the moment you are picked up, your family’s own Santa’s Elf is with you, guiding the journey and making sure everything runs smoothly.
3. Arrival at Santa’s Secret Hide-out. You are welcomed into Santa’s cosy hide-out, filled with the spirit of Christmas.
4. Thirty minutes with Santa. You sit down with warm berry juice and cookies and have a private conversation with Santa Claus. There are plenty of chances to take photos.
5. A gift from Santa. Each child receives a special gift from Santa.
6. Back home. Your Elf accompanies you until you are dropped off again.

Who this visit suits — and who should choose another tour

The visit is rated very easy: there is no physical activity beyond getting in and out of the car and walking into the hide-out. It is made for families with children who believe in Santa, and for grandparents who want to see that moment with them. There is no upper age limit — adults are just as welcome.

Some honest points to consider before you book:

• The visit is not wheelchair accessible and not stroller accessible. If someone in your group needs step-free access, please talk to us first, or look at the Private Santa’s Surprise visit, which is marked accessible for everyone.
• If you are staying at our Postmaster Hotel or Aurora Hill Resort and would rather Santa came to you, the Surprise visit brings Santa to your room for 15 minutes.
• If you want reindeer as part of the day, the Private Reindeer Sleigh Ride & Santa Visit adds an approximately 1 km sleigh ride before you meet Santa in a private Lappish kota.
• If you would like to see Santa Claus Village at the Arctic Circle with a guide, lunch included, our Santa Claus Village Tour is the longer, fuller day.

Timing, season and booking ahead

The visit lasts about 1.5 hours in total. Online booking closes 12 hours before the start time, so late decisions are possible as long as there is availability — but the weeks around Christmas are when families most want this experience, so we would not leave it to the last evening.

Because the visit takes about an hour and a half and includes pick-up, it fits easily into a day with other plans.
