Our Commitment to Sustainability

At StayLapland, sustainability is more than a responsibility—it is a way of life, deeply rooted in our family’s traditions. For four generations, we have cared for the forests and lakes of Kuoksa, preserving the land for future generations. Today, three brothers continue this legacy, ensuring that visitors can experience the beauty, peace, and authenticity of Lapland with a clean conscience.

Respect for Nature

Lapland’s pristine wilderness is a treasure we are committed to protecting. We practice responsible tourism by minimizing waste, conserving energy, and sourcing sustainable and local materials for our operations. Our excursions follow ethical guidelines, ensuring that nature and wildlife are treated with respect.

A Tradition of Responsibility

The Postmaster Hotel carries on the proud tradition of delivering on promises. Just as the Rovaniemi’s Post Office once connected Lapland to the world, we now connect travelers to meaningful, sustainable experiences. From energy-efficient heating in our accommodations to eco-friendly dining and local sourcing, we uphold the values of reliability, responsibility, and care for our surroundings.

Local, Authentic, & Ethical Experiences

Sustainability extends beyond the environment—it is also about people. We partner with local suppliers, support Lapland’s cultural heritage, and ensure our reindeer and huskies receive the highest standards of care. Every activity we offer is designed to be both responsible and enriching, so you can explore Lapland with peace of mind.

A Future Worth Protecting

Sustainability is an ongoing journey. We continuously seek ways to reduce our carbon footprint while enhancing the guest experience. Whether it’s through innovative green solutions or deepening our community connections, we are committed to preserving Lapland’s magic for generations to come.

When you choose StayLapland, you are choosing a family that values tradition, trust, and sustainability. Welcome to a place where you can experience Lapland responsibly—because at StayLapland, we are family.

Everyman’s rights in Finland

In Finland, nature belongs to everyone. Thanks to Everyman’s Right (Jokamiehenoikeus), locals and visitors alike can freely enjoy the forests, lakes, and wilderness—walking, skiing, picking berries, and experiencing the beauty of Lapland.

At StayLapland, we encourage our guests to explore responsibly: respecting wildlife, leaving no trace, and appreciating the land that sustains local traditions and communities. By following these principles, we ensure that Lapland’s pristine nature can be enjoyed for generations to come.
