People who look at Aurora Hill Resort usually ask us the same thing first: which cabin is right for us? If you are two, the answer is often the Aurora Suite – our smallest cabin and the one we built with couples in mind. It is a single room of 23 m², quiet, warm and self-contained, on the highest resort site in Rovaniemi.
This page is our own description of the suite: the layout, what is in the room, what is included in the price, how check-in works and how guests combine a stay with a private sauna evening or a tour from our Kuoksa Wilderness Park. Everything here comes from our accommodation pages, so you can plan with the same information our reception team uses.
In short: the Aurora Suite at Aurora Hill Resort is a 23 m² one-room cabin for 1–2 guests with two beds, a bathroom with WC and a kitchenette. Prices start from 199 € per night, breakfast is delivered to your cabin every morning, and parking, Wi-Fi and our Northern Lights Alert App are included. The resort is 10 km from Rovaniemi city centre. Many couples add our Private Traditional Finnish Sauna & Jacuzzi use at Aurora Hill Resort (from 159 €, 1 hour 30 minutes), which is the booking card you see below.

Aurora Hill Resort is our family-owned cabin resort on the highest resort site in Rovaniemi, 10 km from the city centre. The cabins were built by a local family-owned company and combine Nordic design with modern comfort. There are four cabin types: the Aurora Suite (23 m², 1–2 guests), the Aurora Suite Plus (25 m², 1–3 guests), the Aurora Sky Suite (25 m², 1–3 guests, with a double bed under a glass roof) and the Aurora Family Suite (31 m², 1–4 guests, with a separate bedroom). The Aurora Suite is the compact one, designed for two people who want privacy rather than extra space.
Because the resort sits high above the surrounding area, the views are open – which is exactly what you want on a clear winter night. If you want to understand what the sky is doing, our guides to the Northern Lights season 2026–2027 and to aurora hunting in Rovaniemi are a good place to start.

Inside the Aurora Suite: layout and amenities
The suite is one elegant room of 23 m² with two beds, a bathroom with WC and a kitchenette. There is underfloor heating, and a sofa bed is listed among the amenities. The room is set up so you can arrive, close the door and not need anything else:
- Sleeping: two beds, bed linen, extra pillows and blankets
- Bathroom: towels, shampoo, body soap and a hair dryer
- Kitchenette: stove and stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, electric kettle, pans and pots, dishes and cutlery
- Comfort: heating plus underfloor heating, a tablet and cleaning equipment
- Safety: smoke alarm, carbon monoxide alarm, first aid kit and fire extinguisher
The kitchenette means you can make a late tea after a night outside or prepare a simple meal without driving into town. It is not a full apartment kitchen, but everything on the list above is there.
What is included in your stay
Four things are included in the price of the Aurora Suite:
- Daily breakfast, made with fresh, carefully chosen ingredients and delivered to your cabin each morning
- Free parking
- Wi-Fi
- Northern Lights Alert App – free access for resort guests, with real-time notifications when the Northern Lights appear at the resort
The alert app has three sensitivity levels – Low, Medium and High – so you can decide how easily it wakes you. Set it higher on a clear night if you would rather be woken for a faint display than miss it.
Activities, the private sauna and spa packages are not included in the room price; you book them separately, either online or through us. Rates start from 199 € per night – the exact price for your dates is shown when you check availability on the Aurora Suite page.
Arrival, check-in and who helps you
Check-in at the Aurora Suite is contactless self check-in, so you can arrive without waiting at a desk. You are not on your own, though: our reception team at Hotel Postmaster in the city centre looks after Aurora Hill Resort guests and is ready to help whenever you need it. The resort reception number is +358 40 501 0660, and there is a WhatsApp line for Aurora Hill Resort as well.
If you are arriving by car, parking is free. If you are not, tell us when you book activities: our tours offer pick-up and drop-off straight from the resort, so you do not need a car to go out on a safari.

The Aurora Suite is the right choice if you are one or two adults who want a quiet, private base with breakfast brought to the door, and you plan to spend your evenings watching the sky or relaxing rather than cooking big meals.
Choose another cabin if:
- you are three guests – the Aurora Suite Plus or the Aurora Sky Suite (both 25 m², 1–3 guests) have room for a third person
- you want a glass roof above the bed – that is the Aurora Sky Suite
- you are a family or small group of four – the Aurora Family Suite (31 m²) has a separate bedroom and a large sofa bed
All four cabin types are listed on the Aurora Hill Resort page. If you are unsure, send us your group size and dates and we will tell you honestly which cabin fits.
A private sauna evening at the resort
The most popular addition to a stay in the Aurora Suite is our Private Traditional Finnish Sauna & Jacuzzi use at Aurora Hill Resort, from 159 € for 1 hour 30 minutes. It follows a centuries-old Finnish tradition: there is no shower. Instead, water is heated in a tank on the electric stove and mixed with cold water, and you wash by pouring it over yourself with a ladle – the way generations of Finns have done. The Jacuzzi is private to you too, so you can move between the sauna, the Jacuzzi and the snow.
Included in the sauna booking are bathrobes and slippers, towels, seat covers, soft drinks and water, a small lounge area, and private use of both the sauna and the Jacuzzi.
If you would rather stay in your cabin, our Simply relaxing “Do it yourself” – Spa Experience (from 159 €) is delivered to your room and prepared in advance: two face sheet masks, a bottle of sparkling wine, a platter of fresh berries and Finnish chocolate, bathrobes and slippers.
Tours from the resort: Kuoksa, reindeer and the Northern Lights
Aurora Hill Resort is close to Lapland Winter Park, and the classic Arctic experiences – snowmobiling, reindeer rides, Northern Lights safaris and traditional sauna moments – run from our private Kuoksa Wilderness Park. Aurora Hill Resort is on the pick-up list of our tours, for example the Kuoksa Reindeer Adventure and the Northern Lights Tour Reindeer Safari, so you are collected from the resort and brought back afterwards. Please be ready in time: our tours ask guests to wait 10 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time.
You can browse everything we run on our activities in Rovaniemi page and book directly online.
Book this if – or choose something else if
Book the Aurora Suite if you are two, you want peace and open views away from the city lights, you like breakfast arriving at your door, and you are happy to be 10 km from the centre with free parking or tour pick-ups from the resort.
Choose something else if you want to walk to restaurants and shops in the evening – then a room at our Postmaster Hotel in Rovaniemi city centre is the better base – or if you need space for three or four, in which case look at the larger Aurora Hill Resort cabins.
